Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) Partner and Head of Appellate Practice Ryan McGinley-Stempel will join a panel discussion at the University of California Law San Francisco (UC Law SF) on Tuesday, April 8. The panel, held as part of the university’s Government Law concentration, will share insights into careers providing legal representation for public agencies.

Organized by Adjunct Professor Raymond Rollan, who currently serves as an assistant general counsel with the Office of General Counsel at the State Bar of California, the session will bring together attorneys from private firms who represent government clients. Panelists will share their experiences and insights to help law students understand the unique aspects of public agency legal work.

“There is a real need for smart, passionate attorneys in public law, and I am excited to encourage students to explore that path,” said Ryan. “This panel is a great opportunity to demystify what it means to serve as outside counsel for government agencies and to highlight the impact this type of work can have.”

UC Law SF’s Government Law concentration offers specialized classes and experiential opportunities that prepare students to specialize in government law.

“Ryan’s participation underscores our firm’s ongoing dedication to mentoring the next generation of government lawyers,” said Founding Partner Jon Holtzman. “By engaging with students early in their careers, we’re aiming to cultivate the expertise needed to address the complex legal challenges facing government entities today.”

RPLG is committed to supporting aspiring attorneys interested in government practice, with other mentorship initiatives including the annual Public Law Fellowship program.

RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies, nonprofit entities, individuals and private entities in need of effective, responsive and creative legal solutions.
