Renne Public Law Group is excited to attend the 2026 League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference and Expo in Anaheim from September 23–25. The firm will be represented by Founding Partners Art Hartinger and Jon Holtzman, Partner and Head of Investigations Practice Karen Carrera, Partner and Head of Appellate Practice Ryan McGinley-Stempel, Partner and Head of Affirmative Litigation Practice Jim Ross and Associate Lisa Sharkey.
On Thursday, September 24, Jim will lead the legal issue session, “California Municipalities and Federal Government Actions.” As local governments across California pursue litigation to protect critical federal funding and policies that support their communities, this session will examine ongoing litigation efforts, their potential impacts on public agencies and more. Jim will be joined by City Attorneys Department Director and City Attorney for the City Petaluma Eric Danly, who will be moderating.
“It is always a real treat to spend quality time with our friends in public law and city leaders from throughout the state,” said Jon. “This year, we are especially excited for Jim’s session on efforts to maintain federal funding to localities. Jim is great at bringing these types of challenging issues to the attention of public agencies and policymakers. The discussion will help public agencies assess when and whether they need to consider legal remedies, and share the experience of agencies that have participated in litigation to preserve federal funding”
