Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) Founding Partner Jon Holtzman and Renne Public Policy Group (RPPG) Director of Government Affairs Sharon Gonsalves will be presenting at the League of California Cities Annual Conference and Expo, September 20-22 in Sacramento.

Sharon will participate in a panel entitled, “The Mayor Said What?! Staying Ahead of the News,” at 8:30 a.m. on September 21. The discussion will cover how public agencies can use media relations and social listening to stay informed, build relationships and analyze data for better public perception and communication.

“Cultivating relationships with reporters and influencers and staying connected to the media is an essential part of maintaining your agency’s relevancy,” said Sharon. “Being proactive with media engagement helps establish and maintain an agency’s reputation and communicate their intended message.”

At 2:30 p.m. on September 21, Jon will moderate a panel on “Reducing Wildfire Risk to Wildland-Urban Interface Communities,” where speakers will present on current policy framework and best practices for creating fire-adapted communities.

“The panel’s demonstration of model ordinances in the San Francisco Bay Area will show how regional cooperation with housing elements supports local wildfire safety,” said Jon. “This presentation is extremely relevant to communities across California that are increasingly vulnerable to wildfires.”

We look forward to connecting with you during the event. Outside of conference sessions, make sure to stop by RPLG’s booth to say hello to our other teammates attending the conference: Amy Ackerman, Amy Boggs, Eric Figueroa, Art Hartinger, Hallie Hill and Dane Hutchings.
