Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) welcomes Yusof Nazari to the firm as an associate. With extensive experience in public sector litigation, Yusof brings valuable perspective and strong skills to the firm’s litigation practice.

“I’m excited to join the team and work alongside colleagues who possess such an impressive depth of knowledge about municipal law and codes,” said Yusof. “I look forward to applying my own background in litigation while continuing to expand my understanding of public law.”

Prior to joining RPLG, Yusof served as an associate attorney at Hawkins, Parnell & Young, LLP, where he managed cases representing public agencies in administrative and civil matters, including government tort liability, employment and civil rights issues. His work also included substantive research into a variety of general civil litigation issues, ranging from public entity liability and constitutional law to products liability and tort law.

Clerkship and federal agency experience have further shaped Yusof’s public law perspective. His time at the San Francisco Superior Court, where he supported the Honorable Judge Jeffrey S. Ross, included involvement in cases pertaining to financial regulation, police misconduct, employment, public works and public entity liability.

Yusof also contributed to investigations at the National Labor Relations Board, drafting final reports on unfair labor charges, and completed an externship with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, where he prepared bench memoranda and drafted judicial orders for diversity, social security appeals and constitutional speech cases.

“Yusof’s experience managing cases for public agencies, combined with his public courts background, brings precisely the litigation skills and public sector perspective our clients value,” said Founding Partner Jon Holtzman. “Yusof’s demonstrated ability to navigate government tort liability, civil rights issues, and constitutional matters will make him a strong addition to our litigation practice.”

Yusof earned a J.D. from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law), where he concentrated in international law, and a B.A. in political science from the University of Texas at Dallas. He served as a staff editor for the UC Hastings Science and Technology Law Journal and received the 2020 UC Hastings Leadership Award. He is fluent in English and Farsi.

RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies and nonprofits, providing courageous, creative and responsive solutions.
