ABOUT JUNE CATALANO

June Catalano is a seasoned professional with an impressive career as a city manager and consultant, specializing in leadership, conflict resolution and strategic planning. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as an RPMG consultant.

June began her career in the City of Huntington Beach’s development services department and subsequently held community development director positions in Laguna Beach and Santa Ana. She also ventured into the private sector as the director of planning at Baker & McKenzie’s San Francisco office, providing guidance on land and resource development.

Her passion for public service led her back to municipal work, where she became the director of development services for the City of San Leandro. Her exceptional leadership resulted in San Leandro winning a Helen Putnam award for its residential seismic strengthening program.

June transitioned into city management as the assistant city manager for the City of Milpitas, overseeing various departments and leading complex projects such as constructing a new city hall, negotiating solid waste rate structures and implementing innovative permit processes.

She further advanced her career as a city manager for the City of Martinez, the Contra Costa County Seat. During her five years at the city, she oversaw significant economic development and revitalization planning, including complex waterfront and marina strategies.

In her most recent position as city manager for the City of Pleasant Hill, June demonstrated exceptional leadership over her 17-year tenure. Notable achievements under her guidance include the successful design and construction of a new library, the development of a general plan and housing element and the implementation of an efficient online permitting system.

June holds a B.S. in journalism from the University of Tulsa and an M.S. in journalism and communications from Syracuse University. She will support RPMG’s public agency clients with executive coaching, strategic planning, complex negotiations and crisis management.
