ABOUT ERIC FIGUEROA

Eric Figueroa joined RPMG from the City of Martinez, where he served as city manager. During his tenure, he launched and seated an Anti-Racism and Discrimination, Pro-Inclusion and Equity (ARDPIE) Community Task Force, restructured operations, recruited management team members and implemented small business recovery and outdoor dining programs. Eric previously was assistant city manager for the City of San Ramon and assistant to the city manager for the City of San Leandro. As public affairs manager for the League of California Cities, he advanced legislative and statewide advocacy priorities, facilitated meetings between city officials and legislators, built grassroots coalitions and regularly briefed city managers and local elected officials on legislative and policy issues impacting local government.

A seasoned local government leader with over 20 years of strategic and operational experience, Eric’s public sector consulting proficiencies include:

A past president of the Municipal Management Association of Northern California, Eric has served as at-large representative, vice president, president elect and president of the League of California Cities City Managers Department and as a board member for the California City Management Foundation. Previously chair of the Contra Costa Public Managers Association and a member of the board of directors of the Orange County Business Bank, he currently provides strategic advice as a member of the board of governors of the Rose Institute of State and Local Government at Claremont McKenna College and as an advisory council member of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund San Francisco.

Eric holds a bachelor of arts degree in government and economics from Claremont McKenna College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
